The ALLMAN BROTHERS

"In MEMORY of ELIZABETH REED"

The ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND

LIVE at The FILMORE EAST

NEW YORK NY

1971

"Just LISTEN"

The Allman Brothers Band played the Filmore East Theater in New York's East Village on the 11th, 12th, & 13th of March 1971 .. They were not the headliners, Johnny Winter had top billing and Elvin Bishop was also on the ticket.

This album is highly regarded by many as the greatest live rock music album ever recorded, and who would disagree. The album features the great Duane Allman on guitar, considered by anyone who knows anything about Rock Music to be one of the Greatest Rock Guitar Players of all-time, right up there with the late great Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, and Eric Clapton. The band really rocks from the opening song Statesboro Blues, to the incomparable In Memory of Elizabeth Reed, Whipping Post, Hot Lanta, Done Somebody Wrong, Stormy Monday, and You Don't Love Me, the boys absolutely ROCK !

Yes, The Allman Brothers Live at The Filmore East is not only the greatest Live Rock ALbum of all, is most likely Greatest Rock Albums Live or Studio Recorded ever made, even Top 10 of All Time.

Tragically Duane Allman would be dead 7 months after the Concerts at The Filmore East (and recordings). Duane was killed when he lost control of his motorcycle in Macon, Georgia on October 29, 1971. Duane was only 24 years old, at the time of his death. The Allman Brithers Bass Guitar Player Berry Oakley would be killed on his motorcycle a year later, just 3 blocks from where Duane died.

RIP DUANE & BERRY
