The Rolling Stones first arrived on American shores in June of 1964. Their first ever Gig in The United States was on June 5.1964, and they played The Swing Auditorium in San Bernadino, California. The tour was only two weeks and they did 2 shows at New York's
Carnegie Hall at the end of June 1964. The Stones at the time did not have any big hits or original songs and their act made up covering such songs as: Not Fade Away, Walking The Dog, and Route 66. The Stones returned to England and soon after recorded "Time is On My Side," by Jerry a. The song became their 1st Big Hit and the band would sing it when they returned to America in October of 64.
With an American Top 10 Hit under their belt, The Stones picked up steam and played much larger venues then their first tour of the States, playing arenas like Cleveland's Public Hall. After this, it was all up hill for Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and The Rolling Stones, who are still, 56 years later playing live shows in America and all over the World. "Who would have guessed back then in 64?" No one I'd wager to bet. The boys just keep on Rocking.
