playing His CHERRY GIBSON LES PAUL
LIVE at The FILLMORE EAST
NEW YORK NY
March 2, 1971
Having my morning coffee, here at my favorite New York City Cafe (?), listening to The Allman Brothers Band - Live at The Fillmore East. "Dam this song Rocks!" I just love it. The late great Duane Allman is Bad Ass, kicking it Big Time on his Gibson Les Paul Guitar. The whole band is so fluid, and the song rolls along effortlessly. Berry Oakley on Bass, lays his lines down good, drums keep drumming, Dickey Betts, who wrote the song and playing rhythm guitar to Duanes' lead, as brother Gregg Allman lets loose on a Hammond Organ, it's one of Rock Music Greatest Moments of all. And it was recorded live, just a few blocks away on 2nd Avenue in New York's East Village, The Fillmore East, which at the time was one Rock Music greatest Mecca's of all. Those are years way gone now. And speaking of now, "all the music Sucks." "What the Hell?" Why don't they make great music anymore? I just don't get it?
I'm listening to this on Youtube, which I love. At home, I have an original copy of the album.
