My MUSIC Author Daniel Bellino Zwicke

THROUGH THE PAST DARKLY

Big Hits Vo. 2 , 1969

One of our First Albums
My sister Barbara, brother Jimmy and I got this album from Columbia Record Club
8 Records for .99 Cents
"Isn't this the way most kids in the 60s and 70s started their Album Collection?"

YOU KNOW IT WAS !

In the inside flap of the album, there is an anonymous poem chosen by Jones, which reads: "When this you see, remember me, and bear me in your mind. Let all the world say what they may, speak of me as you find." My Brother JIMMY and I really Loved this album, that had such great STONES Tunes as: HONKY TONK WOMAN, Let's Spend The Night Together, JUMPIN JACK FLASH , DANDELION, RUBY TUESDAY,  SHE'S A RAINBOW and .....

The First Album I Ever Bought in a Record Store

Elton John 's

MADMAN ACROSS THE WATER

I bought this album at a Music Record Shop "Tomko Brothers" in Rutherford , NJ next to The RIVIOLI THEATER. It was the first album that I ever bought in a record store, though not the first Rock Albums we owned, as we got those 8 albums from the Columbia Record Club where you got  8 albums for .99 Cents. "Remember?"

I FEEL FINE
45 RPM
The BEATLES

This was the First Rock N Roll Record I ever Owned

My Dad bought a little RECORD PLAYER for my sister and I for Christmas around 1964 Along with the Record Player, my Dad bought us this Record and a copy of ROCKING AROUND THE CHRISTMAS TREE by Brenda Lee. I almost wore out both of these records playing them over and over again, along with some 78 RPM Records my Father bought in Japan. The record was called TOKYO SHOESHINE BOY.

Frank Sinatra

STRANGERS in THE NIGHT

I've been a huge SINATRA Fan since I was a young boy. I was fortunate to see him perform live and in Concert 7 Times. Strangers in The Night is a great album, with some of my favorite Sinatra tunes, including The SUMMER WIND, Call Me, All or Nothing at All (Cole Porter), and of course Strangers in The Night.

Musical arrangements by Nelson Riddle and His Orchestra
Sinatra won 2 Grammy Awards for this album in 1967 for Record of The Year and Best Male Vocal Performance.

Yes this was my 1st of many Sinatra albums. I now own more than 40 vinyl albums by the great Frank Sinatra, and about 12 CDs ...

The Rolling Stones

STICKY FINGERS

1971

One of ROCKS ALL TIME Greatest Albums

It would only be natural for most people to assume that that is Mick Jagger on the Iconic STICKY FINGERS album cover. "It's not." Many have speculated who the model was. Some say it was jed Johnson who was Andy Warhol's campanion at the time. Some say, it was Jed's brother Jay Johnson, and some say it was Corey Tippin and Koe Delasandro claims that the cover figure in Blue Jeans is him. The picture is not of any of these people. That is none other than former Warhol Factory Member and the First Editor of Andy Warhol's Interview Magazine (1971 - 1974) the late Glenn O'Brien on not "The Cover of The Rolling Stone," but on the Rolling Stones cover of STICKY FINGERS .

Dianna Ross & The Supremes

BABY LOVE

Dam? I Loved The SUPREMES. Especially Dianna Ross who I had the pleasure of seeing in Concert at FOREST HILLS TENNIS STADIUM in Forrest Hills Queens. The Supremes were part of my growing up and I always loved hearing them and their string of Hits back in the 60s
...

AND of COURSE

LITTLE STEVIE WONDER

My Cherie Amour

Stevie had a String of Big Hits, and it was always great to hear him on the Radio too. We had a couple Hit 45s of Stevie's, and the first STEVIE WONDER album I bought was SONGS in a KEY of LIFE. And what an album. Monster Huge.

The ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND

Live at The FILLMORE EAST

Featuring the Late Great DUANE ALLMAN and his Brother GREGG ALLMAN
I have an Original Album. I had a copy of FRAGILE by YES and my good friend Chucky Foster wanted it, so we traded. He got FRAGILE and I got this, The ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND "LIVE at THE FILLMORE EAST"

Sorry Chucky, but I Think I Got The Better Deal

Carly Simon

NO SECRETS

Great album, with thee Monster Hit "YOU'RE SO VAIN" by Carly. This album was out at the same time that Duane Allman was tragically Killed in a Motorcycle accident in Macon, Georgia. Millions speculated for years who was Carly singing about in the song You're So Vain, if it was Mick Jagger or the actor Warren Beatty. After 40 Years, Carly confirmed that it was her ex-boyfriend Warren Beatty, "Then you flew your Lear Jet up to Novia Scotia, to see a Total Eclipse of The Sun."

Diamonds & Rust

A Wonderful album by JOAN BAEZ with many Beautiful Songs

"I LOVED THIS ALBUM"

Though it is not well known to most.

HENDRIX

ARE YOU EXPERIENCED
by The Late Great JIMI HENDRIX
"I Have an Original Copy of This Album"

LONG LIVE JIMI
"Ah Move Over ROVER, and let JIMI Take Over"

HARVEST

Neil Young

There was a two year period when I was in High School that I was a huge Fan of Neil Young and his music, including AFTER THE GOLD RUSH, and this great album, HARVEST.

Jethro Tull

AQUALUNG

This was a Huge Album in the Early 1970s and I bought an Original Copy that I still have. I was heavily into JETHRO TULL for a few years. I also have The BENEFIT Album and the Living in The Past album. I still have all 3 albums, as I do all my albums. I never got rid of any of them.
 I LOVE VINYL !!!

SONGS in a KEY of LIFE

A Monster Album by STEVIE WONDER

"I played this album like Crazy from its 1976 Release and all through the 80s. I Loved it. And the frist year it came out I remember listening to it with my friends: Annette Solomini, Maria Caruso (RIP), Debbie Costa, mys sister Barbara, and others. Wonderful songs that always bring back memories of those days in the mid to late 1970s whenever I hear one of these songs on the radio these days. God Bless my Dear Freind Maria Caruso (RIP) who I listened to this album with, along with our friends. Sadly, dear Maria passed away at a young age in the early 1980s ... God Bless Her Soul. Danny
