George Benson covered this Great Song as Well
George is a great musician and did a fine job with his rendition in 1978, but as good as George's version was, prefer The Drifters version a whole lot more. Benson did a wonderful job but the feel is different, and the feel of The Drifters rendition of On Broadway sounds much fuller and real. It's authentic, you feel like you're actually out their on Broadway itself, or a player in The Broadway Theater. The Drifters version sound like real-life like you're out on The Gritty Streets of New York City and Broadway itself, Benson rendition though excellent just doesn't have the great deep feel of that done by The Drifters in 1963 (Phil Spector on Guitar).
On Broadway was written by the song-writing team of Weil & Mann at Aldon Music located at 1650 Broadway in New York City, NY ...
